Marketing Success Formula

Recently, I met Kevin She, he has been an entrepreneur since 2001. He taught me about a Marketing Success Formula, which his mini storage company “SC Storage” has used in its very successful marketing campaign. In the following I will change the formula, which is customized for Hong Kong markets to a version, which is usable worldwide.

A phone number which is easy to remember

x

A foreigner speaking Chinese

x

Repetitive Advertising (TV & Minibus/Taxis)

=

Marketing Success

Now I’ll convert this formula into a version, which can be applied anywhere in the world. I think it’s necessary, because this formula is very Hong Kong specific (Chinese language, Minibus, etc)

Phone number or a website, which is easy to remember

x

A foreigner speaking the local language

x

Repetitive Advertising (Billboards, YouTube, Cars)

=

Marketing Success

A foreigner speaking the local language is very effective as an advertising strategy, because it’s easier for the human brain to remember a special voice, than to remember a normal voice. Let’s take IKEA as an example. As of May, IKEA has a brand value of 11.8 billion US$ according to Forbes. Their advertisement form is an iconic voice at the end of video and audio advertisements with a foreign accent (in Germany it’s a Chinese/Indian accent talking in German).
